Information on Waivers

Waivers allowing athletes to advance through the Junior Olympic qualifying process are granted under extreme circumstances and are issued at the discretion of the Youth Executive Committee. Waivers may be considered for the following:
  • SAT/ACT Testing
  • Death of immediate family member, or
  • A valid academic obligation
Injuries or medical excuses are not eligible for waiver consideration.

All waivers require supporting documentation and must be submitted to the Youth Executive Committee prior to the meet entry deadline. Athletes receiving waivers are still required to register and pay the entry fee for the meet they have received the waiver for.
  • If approved, athletes are still required to register (athletic.net) for their events and pay for entries in the meet for which they are requesting a waiver.
  • If athletes are not registered online in Athletic.net and meet fees are not paid, athletes cannot be advanced to the next round in the Junior Olympic series.

Rules Focus

On this page you will find USATF Competition Rules for Cross Country and Track & Field that the Youth Committee feels you as coaches and athletes should be aware of.
